If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I took an amazing trip to Mexico City in early December. I haven’t posted about it yet for two reasons… First, I haven’t blogged about ANYTHING since November. But mostly, I’ve been trying to figure out how to blog about my trip and whether I wanted to do one big post or a few smaller ones. I decided one post was too much pressure, there’s no way I could share everything I wanted in a blog post. Maybe a book, but not one blog post.

So here is the first of a few posts about my Mexico City trip. Let’s start with one of the galleries I visited called Labor. It was right across the street from Casa Barragan, which I’ll be sharing over on Design Milk!

The current exhibit was of Argentinean artist Irene Kopelman, On Glaciers and Avalanches. The art is a result of her research and collaboration with scientists in Switzerland who better helped her understand the complexity of the behavior of glaciers as they relate to avalanches.

These art pieces are her interpretation of that relationship. What appears to be simple water colors are actually an expression of the “ephemeral landscapes” she grew to respect and appreciate.

The gallery itself was also something to note… It could have been a dream residence, with its lush patios and open space interiors full of natural light. It had me at the turquoise door…
