If you celebrate Easter, I hope you had a wonderful day today. If you don’t celebrate, I still hope you had a wonderful Sunday of course. I had a fun day with my parents and husband. We met in San Juan Capistrano for church and then brunch. We walked around in the garden of the mission and just enjoyed each other’s company.
Easter is a little emotional for me because it makes me miss my grandmother and her amazing egg hunts. Every Easter my parents, brothers and I would go to church and then head to my grandparent’s home for the egg hunt and lunch. They had a great 2-level yard, perfect for an egg hunt. The eggs were filled with an awesome variety of candy and chocolates. As we got a little older, some of them were even filled with money or lottery tickets!
Back in 1996, my grandmother and I visited my brother who was attending Cornell for graduate school. I will never forget my grandmother making sure to continue her egg hunt tradition by planting eggs all over his back yard… in the snow! We knew where every egg was because there was a hole in the snow. We all knew it was silly to even have an egg hunt at our age (and in the snow), but we just had fun with it. It was such an amazing memory.
Have a great week everyone!
