So, here on the sunny West Coast I feel really guilty as I follow the updates on Superstorm Sandy and its aftermath via Twitter and CNN. Twitter is such an amazing tool, not just for me on the other side of the country wondering what’s going on… But for those on the East Coast trying to communicate with each other and let each other know the status of things in different parts of the city. Watching people tweet which bagel shop is still open or that a fire broke out on a particular street corner was pretty cool and heart wrenching at the same time.
This photo from Brooklyn is breathtaking, both the wave and the power of mother nature. But it’s also amazing in a very different way… It’s proof that when you have passion for what you do, nothing will get in your way. NOTHING. Can you believe this photographer and the risk he took to get this shot?!
Maybe it was my anxiety for friends (and even strangers) on the East Coast or maybe it was the new arc floor lamp I bought yesterday, but last night I decided to re-arrange the living room (and some of the dining room) when I got home from work. It’s the third time since moving in about 6 months ago. I like it now though, I just might be settled. Maybe I’ll post pictures soon, but the perfectionist in me holds me back.
My thoughts are with all of you on the East Coast as you wake up to a very different city than yesterday morning…
